TRAINING UPDATE 10.6.20
The good news is that there seems to be some light at the end of this COVID tunnel! After three months of inactivity, we are currently awaiting the decision from SUSF on our “Back-to-Work COVID Protocols” to ensure that we are able to minimise the risk of infection to our staff and members upon their return. We will send out these protocols during this week but we can already tell you that, apart from our L1/L2 and M1/M2 squads that will be training on Tuesday and Thursday this week with the Strength & Conditioning staff, all Juniors will return to training next week (starting on 15th of June). We will start with one weekly session per age group (TBA as soon as we get the green light from SUSF) and it will only be Dry land training. The sessions will be done in groups of 9 and two groups will be operating at the same time on two different locations to follow the AIS and the government guidelines. For the return to pool training, the University and the Club are waiting just as much as all of you for the government to give us the go ahead. The facilities department have drained Sydney Uni pool to undertake some essential maintenance and the earliest it will be refilled will be this week. However, at this stage, it will be unheated hence why we will focus on complementary disciplines to facilitate everyone's return when we will be allowed to jump back in the water. Obviously, we do not want to force anybody to come back if they do not feel comfortable doing so but giving us the heads up will massively help to plan everyone’s return appropriately.
